Anchorage Mansion, 424 George St. in Marietta. Hidden Marietta Tour Co., Marietta, Ohio. Check https://www.hiddenmarietta.com/ for days and times. Includes 1.5 hour tour (guided or self-guided depending on time you choose) and 30 minute paranormal investigation using our ghost hunting equipment! The nights are getting longer, and the spookiest time of year will soon be upon us! Book a private Anchorage Mansion paranormal investigation for your group. This once stunning Italianate mansion was the home of Marietta’s wealthiest couple, Douglas and Eliza Putnam. It was built for Eliza, at her special request, but she died just three short years after it was completed. She is said to still be seen, however, standing forlornly in the tower or at the top of the main staircase. Later, other families came to live in the house, but after the last owner died in the early 1960s, the building became a nursing home. Many spirits are said to reside in this lonely mansion, including a little girl who is seen all over the house and has been heard calling out by many visitors. Sounds of a gurney can be heard on the upper floors, as well as footsteps and the sound of sighing, talking and screams. Bring your private investigation group and spend six hours overnight in the mansion and see what you can find! Flat fee of $500 for up to eight people, each additional participant is $65. 740-373-1788.
Always worth the trip!
Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum
The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum (formerly the Weston State Hospital), above, was constructed between 1858 and 1881 and is the largest hand-cut stone masonry building in North America. The original hospital, designed to house 250 souls, was open to patients in 1864 and reached its peak in the 1950s with 2,400 patients in overcrowded and generally poor conditions. Changes in the treatment of mental illness and the physical deterioration of the facility forced its closure in 1994. In the halls of what once was the area’s most reputable hospital, a demented doctor has brought his patients’ nightmares to life. Society’s undesirable souls have been abandoned in the dark recesses of this once safe haven. Their sole purpose is to serve the good doctor and his sadistic experiments. Scratching and clawing their way through their new existence, patients succumb to delirious visions before becoming one of the doctor’s creatures. Can you survive a journey into the Asylum, where the veil between realities is twisted? Visit www.theasylumwv.com for more information or to purchase tickets or call 304-269-5070 for more information.

How many ways to die will you find… or will find you??? Get your tickets today so you can experience the fright of being locked in a cell, the fear of being lost in a maze, and the terror of a nightmarish walk through the Dungeon of Horrors. This is not your average “haunted house.” After all, it’s at the penitentiary, as in - a dungeon! Will you manage to keep up with your group and not get separated? Do you have what it takes to make it through? Don’t worry, their actors will be there to help you along ... The Dungeon of Horrors utilizes fog machines, multiple strobe lights, low ceilings, stairs, jump scares and general disorientation. If you have a medical condition that is triggered by any of the aforementioned, they strongly suggest that you do NOT attend.
The Dungeon of Horrors is a NO TOUCH haunt. They employ several underage, high school children. Please do not touch, grab, or speak inappropriately to the children. Touching an underage person could lead to a felony charge and they do have police officers on site nightly.

Paranormal flashlight tour, 45 minutes — Known as the area with the most paranormal activity, a place where murders, violence and brutality were common everyday occurrences, you will visit where the most dangerous inmates were housed, the maximum security area, North Hall. The inmates called it – The Alamo. You will enter this part of the prison through the “Administration Building” and the “wheel” – these areas have been closed to the public for years and only opened for the Haunted House season.
The North Walk is NOT an attraction, but a flashlight tour of an area that was once considered one of the bloodiest institutions in the nation. The North Walk is not a staged attraction. You will not see Halloween props or any actors to scare you. The North Walk is a guided tour led by one of our regular tour guides. You will hear real stories of the prison and have the opportunity to experience real paranormal activity. There will be no lights on for this event. Just you, your group, the tour guide, a flashlight ...
and whatever (or whoever) you might encounter. This event is not wheelchair accessible.
If you’re planning on attending both the Dungeon of Horrors and the North Walk the same night, you MUST schedule to do the North Walk first.
