MIDDLEBOURNE -- With Mother Nature being an early season pest at Tyler County Speedway it was a welcome site to finally swing open the gates on the 2023 season with a Tuesday night Test N’ Tune. An enthusiastic pit area featuring over 80 participants along with 15+ mini wedges would hit the highbanks in preparation for the upcoming Season Opener Saturday, April 8.

Now that the fine tuning and bugs have been worked out it’s time to turn our attention to the 49th Season Opener this Saturday night. A jam-packed card will welcome back race fans including the running of the prestigious 12th Annual ‘Let It Ride 35’ for the Jenkins Auto Parts UMP Modified division paying $2,500 to win. Plus, the inaugural running of the ‘Deuces Wild 22’ $1,500 to win main event for the J&R Excavating RUSH Late Models. Along with these two exciting divisions we will have high-speed racing action in the Stutler Motorsports Super Late Models, Sportmods, J&L Collision Center Hotmods, Dual Threat Sport Cards SCDRA 4 Cylinders and the Hino Motors Manufacturing Mini Wedge class.

Be sure to gather up all the youngsters and head to America’s Baddest Bullring as the McClinton Chevrolet Mitsubishi Kids Club will present an EasterEGGstravaganza for the kids. The Easter Egg hunt and visit by the Easter Bunny will be hippity-hopping behind the main grandstands at 5 p.m.
Race fans be sure to load up your appetite as you head to the speedway as the ‘Bullring Bistro’ will be bustling with all your legendary faves from the Coleman’s Fish Sandwich to the popular Mountaineer Fries and much more!
Spring opening hours will be utilized as gates will open at 3 p.m. with the Hino Mini Wedges hitting the track at 5:30 p.m. followed by hotlaps and qualifications at 6 p.m. General admission is $18 with kids 10 and under free with pit admission priced at $35 with kids 5 and under free.

Since 1974, the Tyler County Speedway has hosted some of the biggest motorsports events in the region. Under the management of Hometown Racing Association, the ‘Bullring’ operates weekly April through September featuring several special events. Tyler County Speedway is located 3 ½ miles South of Middlebourne, WV on State Route 18 at the Tyler County Fairgrounds.
