2023 photo galleries

These are exclusive 2023 photo galleries only available online in addition to photo pages printed in The INNformer. [Disclaimer: OK, so we do occasionally use some of these in the print edition, too. For example, the best crew chief [Week #2 candid] and, quite likely, the lead photo in the Topless 50 gallery then hitchin' a ride on an ATV somewhere in the middle of the Feature Fest gallery.

In case you missed it, pages in the print edition are available here. Because we print every other week, not every Bullring story can make it into the print edition, but they are posted here online. As always, thanks to Tyler County Speedway and Zach Yost Racing Photography.

Candids from Dads, Dogs & Dirt night -- 06.17.2023

Another outstanding night of action was put in the books as Tyler County Speedway celebrated Dad, Dogs & Dirt Night. With 115 eager racers hitting the track, competition was fierce throughout the night on a hammer-down surface. Picking up feature wins were Pat Garrett, Kyle Thomas, Brandon Weigle, Shawn Jett, Brian Probst, Jacob McDaniel, Colten Long and Leah Brightwell. The night's headline race was the Middlebourne Galaxy Food Center Sportmod division with the running of the Jerry Potts Memorial. A stacked field of 30 entrants accepted the challenge with Reno, Ohio, veteran Pat Garrett coming out on top and securing the 1st place trophy. The results story is here. The photo slider of winners is also on that page. This is slider below is mostly pits and drivers with just a few racing or track shots.

A total of 115 cars signed in for the King of the Quarter-Mile May 27 with Shawn Jett capturing the $1,500 to win 19th Annual Dickson Classic for UMP Modifieds over Danny Thomas and Chad Smith as well as Cody Brightwell piloting the Michael Thomas-entry to the $2,000 to win Workin’ Man World Championship Hotmod special presented by J&L Collision Center over Steve Magyar and Brian Probst. Of course, Memorial Day was observed -- as shared via social media by Cathy Darlene Patterson Post: "Last night at Tyler County Speedway. Keeping with one of the four pillars of the American Legion and its Auxiliary, Children and Youth, Tyler County Unit 48 sponsors 2 of the mini wedge racers Erickson and Eli Smith, and last night we sponsored their races and provided trophies for the top three finishers in those 2 classes. We topped the evening off with the opening ceremonies prayer by Steve Davis and the Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem, poetry and the Missing Man table ceremony followed by Taps, to honor our fallen for Memorial Day. We thank John and Lorie Watson for this opportunity." She did not mention, but you can see for yourself in the slider gallery: Every mini wedge sported an American flag, in addition to those with a patriotic-themed wedge! The Kids Club activity of the night was race car rides.
