He said util- ity bills have gone up and infrastructure such as sidewalks and water lines need to be replaced or repaired. A bit of good news, Rice said the gas bill has stayed the same, while tele- phone and internet costs are lower. “We are not wanting to place a burden on the people,” he said. “With this tax, customers will be paying 1 percent on items such as beer, cigarettes and other goods. The only things that will not be taxed are food, gasoline, vehicles and medicine.” Merry Christmas & Happy New Year He said other cities, such as Parkersburg, The staffs of The Innformer and The Wells Inn wish you and yours all the best for this Christmas season as Vienna and others, have the sales tax in well as into the new year and beyond!
